Watch Your Tone

Why you should watch your tone with motions:

  1. watch your toneIn adversarial settings, when a party sees the other party do something, he or she is likely to immediately jump to a negative inference about that action. Most of the time, however, the other party is just doing their job and has no sinister intent.
  2. Keep your cool. Keep personal accusations and negative inferences about the other party’s intentions out of your motion. When you write nasty things in your motion, only one person looks bad.
