The Mountain Warfare Training Center is located within 46,000 acres of mountainous terrain with elevations from 6,700 – 11,000 feet. The training program here prepares a USMC Marine and its allied force soldiers survival for mountainous, cold weather, high altitude combat. The many programs at the Mountain Warfare Training Center are too extensive to list here but briefly they not only include managing mountain defense in the winter but there is also a summer program. There are leadership programs to managing battalions in the high altitude environments as well. There are also individualized plans for Aviation Units.
