Shawn Gunder is an experienced criminal lawyer and hard hitting trial advocate. Mr. Gunder brings a tremendous amount of life experiences and professional training (legal and medical) to the table when he represents military clients.

A former U.S. Army Drill Sergeant, a retired Army Officer and a Licensed Physician's Assistant (PA), Mr. Gunder has the background, experience and tenacity to aggressively defend serious criminal cases. In addition to being a lawyer, Mr. Gunder has an extensive medical background that allows him to outgun his opponents in complex criminal cases such as sexual assault and drug cases. For example, Mr. Gunder is trained in conducting sexual assault exams and collecting medical evidence from crime victims and suspects. This allows him to cross examine Government witnesses with devastating firepower. Furthermore, as a former officer and enlisted soldier, Mr. Gunder has an unbeatable presence with military juries.

His professional life began in the military. Through a 20 year career, he was served all over the world including Germany, Korea, Belize, and Kuwait. The military provided him the means to become a Physician Assistant, culminating in his final assignment as the Deputy Division Surgeon for the 2nd Infantry Division in Korea, after which he retired from active duty.

In addition, Mr. Gunder has established an emergency medicine residency for Physician Assistants at the Medical College of Georgia. He was faculty in the Emergency Department, and Instructor in the PA School and the initial director of the PA ER residency. He then worked for a neurosurgeon in Augusta, Georgia. He was employed by the Medical College of Georgia both as a practitioner in the Emergency Department and as an instructor in the Physician Assistant program.
